Cale grows tired of playing bass and singing at the same time - so we're calling out to Houston for a bassist who loves rock music, knows his instrument really well, has tons of energy on stage, and wants to be in a rock band that is dedicated and SERIOUS about their career.
- You will have both the 5 string bass guitar and amp ready for you - you don't have to buy ANYTHING. - It's guarenteed that in the next few years our fanbase, money, and music will grow. So you won't be in a band that screws around or does a half-ass job.
Want to be the bassist of Blistered Glory? Contact the band... band@blisteredglory.com
Or Cale...
cale@blisteredglory.com (713) 895-0542
Male and female players accepted. Must be from Houston unless you have the resources to drive into Houston once or twice a week.
We look forward to meeting you.

You guys shouldn't be looking for a bassist. The bass in your band is one of your strong points. It would only get stronger if you had a singer.
You guys need a singer. You don't need a bassist.

Um, I AM the singer/bassist.
So either you're implying that I suck at singing (which you should just come right out and say) or you're saying that I should stay on bass and look for a singer instead.
Am I correct?

Cale dont listen to that guy. I am an expierienced singer. I take voice lessons. ive been singing my whole life. uve heard me sing. This guy probably doesnt know crap about music. I do. and i think your one of the best local rock singers ive come across. and anyone who says otherwise obviously doesnt know very much about music. Cale is an awesome vocalist. not only is he an awesome vocalist so are the others in the band. (Zach and jono) therefore in that way u now have 3 good vocalists. Cale is obviously the leader of the group concerning vocals so naturally he takes the lead vocal part. And he does a damn good job of it. So anyone who says otherewise is an idiot. plain and simple. Blistered Glory is an awesome band the way it is. adding someone else can only make it better. this will give Cale a chance to focus on his vocals and improving himself even more. Cale wanting to do this just shows his commitment to the band and improving himself. This band is gonna go far. real far. Im just glad i have the pleasure of knowing them. rock on guys!

I don't think you (completely) suck at singing. You are not the best local singer I have listened to, but you guys are one of the best local bands.
All I'm saying is that you shouldn't spend time looking for a bassist when you have a damn good one there. The band's weakness is the vocals. Why do I think that, you may be asking yourself, here is why.
First off, dude, don't scream so damn much. As a listener, I feel you are screaming at me, not the problem. Despite what you may thing, it is easy to confuse the two. I think people scream because they don't have anything worthwhile to say, so they compensate for that by screaming to make people hear them. There's nothing worse than a band that has nothing to say, and screams about it.
Second, Listening to your CD, I get the feeling you're trying to be something you're not. which is hard rock. You sound more fitted (vocaly) on songs like acoustic song at the end and such. but the near screaming on therefore I'm not sounds out of place for you.
Third, and this fact might be able to be looked over, your voice sounds the same every song. you are hitting the same notes. It's evanescence-esq.. And I know that you're playing the bass while you're singing the notes and all. But it's like that on your CD (and I know for a fact that you didn't record the bass and vocals at the same time.)
As for Jordan, I'm not a musical idiot. Infact I'm very musicaly inclined. No, I'm not that "trainned" in it (as in taking classes in it in collage, but I was in band and Chior in high school.) but I do know what I hear, and I hear Cale as being a good bassist that can only get better if he wern't doing lead vocals at the same time.

I appreciate your critique, Ken, and if I find that many others feel the same way, I'll strongly consider dropping the lead singing position.
But it's just so very hard to find an amazing vocalist (that is in no way in reference to me or implies anything about my singing). I feel like we'd be looking FOREVER to find someone who takes it dead seriously and has incredible talent as opposed to someone who can play bass very well. Any less of a vocalist wouldn't give us that advantage we need over cookie-cutter modern rock bands.
And Jordan, thank you very very much for your continual support - you always manage to keep me smiling. How brown is your nose by now, by the way? Haha, just kidding dude. Love you.
By the way, Ken, where have you seen us before? Do you know Jono or Zach personally? I ask because no one's told me about you - and I like to get to know the people who enjoy our music.

I kind of know Jono from one conversation we had in the first semester, and he gave me a CD. I haven't seen him around as of late. Sad thing is that there really won't be a chance to get to know him anyway, because after this semester I'm going off to Seattle. but it's cool. I'll check in on you guys.

Thank you for your input, Ken. I just wanted to know if you'd been to see us live, and if so, what did you think of that? I ask because I know you'll give your brutally honest opinion, which I value to no end, truly.

I kinda remember that conversation. I gave you the CD and was never able to talk to you...and now what with my schedual it's even harder. But thank you for your telling us what you think. Believe it or not, it's one of the first times people have done that to us in what...two years(?)
